In memory of Letitia Linke
While undergoing this treatment Letitia became passionate about educating women about the signs and symptoms of the disease and raising funds for more research. Coordinated by Letitia and her committee, the first Adelaide Silver Style event, the Cocktail Party held in 2016 set the bar high with an evening of quality food, wine and entertainment — raising $75,000 in support of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).
Buoyed by the events success, and while still receiving treatment, Letitia followed up with the successful Frocktober Lunch in 2017. Letitia was a beloved OCRF ambassador, a face of the Witchery ‘White Shirt’ campaign, and was recognised for her efforts raising over $100,000 for the OCRF.
Sadly, Letitia lost her fight in August 2018, leaving behind a legacy that her family and close friends today continue in her honour. Letitia’s deepest wish was that an early detection test would be found so that no other family would have to go through what she and her family went through.
The funds raised from the Adelaide Silver Style event will support research toward achieving that goal by supporting research to:-
- Develop and implement an early detection program for ovarian cancer
- Develop more personalised and directed treatment for women diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer
- Better understanding of the fundamental causes of Ovarian Cancer.

About the LLRF
The Letitia Linke Research Foundation Inc is a South Australian based not for profit charity aimed at increasing overall community awareness of Ovarian Cancer – sometimes called the silent killer.
Our annual event the Adelaide Silver Style raises funds to help support research to find an early detection test, and more directed and personalised treatment for women with Ovarian Cancer.
Currently there is no screening test, low community awareness of ovarian cancer and no understanding of the cause of the disease. Survival rates are low and the one single thing that would improve the long term survival of women affected by Ovarian Cancer is an early detection test.
The funds raised by the Adelaide Silver Style Gala Ball 2021 will be directed toward research in these critical areas.
